On the road again

I’m back in Wisconsin. Milwaukee even. I haven’t lived here since high school really. I was in Madison for a few years, but not Milwaukee. A lot has changed. And to be honest, it doesn’t really feel like home yet. But it will. We’re here for good I think and I’m excited about it.

My plans for the year are coming into focus too. I basically took the last 18 months off from racing (after a not so great experience in the 2018 Leadville MTB 100). But I’m back again and ready to get after it.

As of now my schedule is pretty full (at least early summer & fall): Dairy Roubaix, Day Across Minnesota or Ride Across Wisconsin, the Bear 100, the Heywood, Spring Valley 100, Anyroad Driftless Monster Gravel 100, Gravel & Grog, and the Red Granite Gravel Grinder in Wausau. I’m sure I’ll get talked into the Cheq 40, Riverwest 24 & Powderhorn 24 again too. I’m planning to run Grandma’s Marathon so I probably won’t drive up to the North Shore again the next weekend for the Lutsen 99er, but who knows, I’ve done it before.

And I’m also going to be on a new bike this year, the Trek Checkpoint SL6. I’m super fired up. I bought it from the Trek store in Racine and will probably pick it up sometime in the next few weeks. With so much salt & slurry on the roads right now it’s better off in the shop.

More to come.
